I've been so excited about posting this new wedding blog. We first met Ken and Piyali last March when they were in the beginning stages of their plans. They are such a great couple and I knew we'd hit it off with them right away. Their stories, both as individuals and as a couple, are inspirational. I've loved every moment of this journey with them. We feel honored to have been a part of it. This blog has been so fun to put together. There were so many wonderful moments during their day that is was really hard to narrow down the choices. I could share a lot more than what is in this blog - but I think I'll leave the rest for Ken and Piyali to enjoy. :)Last July we started off with their Engagement Session. I wasn't blogging back then (shame on me!!), so here's a little sample from that session. I always recommend engagement sessions with your photographer - it's a great way to get to know each other better and an excellent way to get used to being in front of the camera! We had such a great time with Ken and Piyali during this shoot. We went to some really beautiful spots; like this one below. :)
OK, so now that you've met the amazing couple, it is time to share with you pieces of this fantastic wedding! A lot of planning and hard work went into this special day - Piyali and Ken did a great job with everything! There were so many details and special moments throughout the day. Such fun!!I was psyched because this was my first time working with the fabulous Angela over at the Holiday Inn Wolf Road. We also had the great fortune of working with our good friend and amazing DJ Chris of Discovery DJs of New York. He kept the party rocking at the reception - he is always a blast to work with!! It was also our first time working with the videographer team of LaRose Media - can't wait to see the trailer to this wedding! We started off at the Holiday Inn Wolf Road where Piyali and her girls were getting ready. The very talented makeup artist Shannon Saiid was on hand dolling up the ladies and in between makeup and hair each of the bridesmaid was wrapped in beautiful Sari's. The colors were fantastic! Here's a few details from our morning. The flowers were gorgeous!! I'm pretty sure I saw smiles like this all day from Piyali. :)LOVE this shot!! She is stunning!!I think she was excited about getting married! :)Time to tie the knot!!They had a special ceremonial dance - it was amazing! There were so many meaningful moments during this wedding. Even I was tearing up!A VERY special first kiss. LOVE!!!!!After some family portraits at the church, it was time to head over to the Schenectady Rose Garden for some bridal portraits. It had been raining most of the day, but thankfully - the skies gave us a little break so we could get these next handful of shots. The sun even made an appearance for a little while! The ladies looking amazing! The guys looked pretty handsome as well!A few classic bride and groom photos...Love these next two...One of my favorite shots of the day...The flowers and colors that day were just beautiful! Perfect for this bride and groom. :)I seriously could have stayed in the garden for hours photographing these two, however, we had to get them over to the reception to celebrate. Here's some details of the reception. It looked beautiful in there!Ken and Piyali had a great intro. When they came in they had the all the guests join them on the dance floor to get the party started with one of my favorite songs: "Say Hey" by Michael Franti. I love this shot of Piyali during that moment. This girl knows how to dance! And look, there's that smile again! :)And of course, a moment for their first dance...At one point during the night there was a Conga line going throughout the room. Piyali was leading the crew of dancers. I love this shot!I could keep going with this blog, but I'll end with this shot... A great way to end the night and this blog. Sparklers!!!
